The brown bear immersed in the magic of Slovenia's forests
The journey ... to Slovenia
Five days immersed in the incredible wild nature of Slovenia. Small villages, endless forests and a surreal silence create the perfect habitat for the main European mammals, which find refuge and tranquility in these woods. Wolves, foxes and, above all, the brown bear, the undisputed king of these forests. With one of the highest densities in Europe, the brown bear population here is thriving, making Slovenia one of the best destinations for photographing this magnificent animal.
Among these forests there are small wooden huts, surrounded by greenery, where you can enjoy unique experiences.
During our 5 day visit in the Slovenian woods we where able to capture so nice photos of the wildlife, in these days it was hard to find the bears so me and Raf split the final day in a different location to get higher changes to find the brown bear. Luckily Raf had the change to capture him, so the photos in this blog of the Brown Bear are from Raf, i was able to capture all the other photos on this blog.
During the day we had a nice hide where we could photograph behind special glass. So we could also spot some birds and squirrels at the pool.
One day we went searching for a specific owl on a specific height...
The Pygmy owl, these animals display incredible flexibility in terms of specific habitats by which they reside. The predominant environment they are found in is forests, ranging from temperate and moist to deciduous woods. However, they can also be found in savannas, wetlands, open woodlands, swamps, and meadows. In correspondence with this, their preference for elevation greatly depends on the region they affiliate with. However, the general range of altitudes they prefer are between 3,000 and 6,000 feet above sea level.
For many years photographers come to this place to find one but never had the luck to photograph them, while driving in our jeep we tried to locate them with our speaker who makes the sound of this owl, because of his small size you hardly see him in the tree, i could photograph him but the photographers next to mee couldn't find him in the tree.
But observing and photographing the Brown Bear so close is why you go to Slovenia Wild Life
